How to Pitch Your Lofi Music to Labels (Without Getting Ignored)

Landing a release on a lofi label isn’t just about vibe—it's about professionalism, precision, and respecting the process. If you've been sending out demos and hearing crickets, you're not alone. The truth? Most demos never even get listened to... because they’re sent the wrong way.

Let’s change that.

Step 1: Do Your Research

Before you even think about hitting "send," ask yourself:

  • Does this label actually release music like mine?

  • Have I followed them on socials or listened to their catalog?

  • Do I understand what kind of artist they usually sign?

Pro tip: Lofi is a spectrum—ambient, jazzhop, boom bap, chillhop—know where your sound fits.

Step 2: Find the Right Contact Method

Don’t guess—check the label’s website or Instagram bio. Most will tell you exactly how to submit (and how not to).

Avoid DMs unless the label explicitly asks for them. Otherwise, go with email or the submission form they provide.

Subject line tip: Be clear and specific.
Example: Demo Submission: Artist_Name - “Track_Name”

Step 3: Keep Your Pitch Short & Sweet

When emailing or filling out a form, don’t write your life story. Labels get dozens (sometimes hundreds) of submissions a week.

Here’s what to include:

  • Your artist name

  • A short intro (1–2 sentences)

  • A method to hear the demo (make sure the label will be able to hear and download your track without requesting permission)

  • Links to your socials/Spotify

🎯 Example message:

Hey [Label Name],

I’m Artist_Name, a producer based in Sweden. Here’s a 3-track unreleased EP I thought might be a fit for your catalog. Hope you enjoy it!

Step 4: Be Patient—and Professional

Labels are often run by small teams (sometimes one person!). Give them time. 2–3 weeks without a response? It’s okay to follow up once, politely.

If you still don’t hear back: move on. Keep improving your craft, building your catalog, and trying again later.

🚫 Don’t:

  • Ask for feedback unless invited

  • Get pushy or defensive

  • Keep spamming them

📦 Bonus Tips: Increase Your Chances

✔ Make sure your mix is clean and release-ready
✔ Have a consistent visual aesthetic (covers, IG, etc.)
✔ Release music independently while pitching—labels want to see you're active
✔ Tag labels in your posts if you’re sharing relevant music (subtly, not spammy)

TLDR – How to Pitch to Lofi Labels

  1. Know the label—don’t blast generic emails

  2. Submit music the way they ask

  3. Keep it short, respectful, and professional

  4. Be chill—patience pays off

  5. Keep making great music and growing your profile

Final thought:
The lofi scene is tight-knit and personal. Labels aren't just looking for tracks—they’re building a vibe, a community, and a brand. So treat your demo like a handshake, not a cold pitch.

Stay consistent. Stay kind. And keep creating.
